Heavy Kisser

Heavy Kisser

This is a story about a passion project that started when I found two rolls of Kodak Vision Film. I shot the film with a Bell and Howell FILMSOUND8 camera on location in O‘ahu, Hawaii, and developed it by hand. The music for the film was provided by my friends at Hotel San Sebastian. Working with analog film is a wonderfully rich and tactile experience that you can feel with your hands. It was a welcome reprieve from the digital world that I normally work in. Exploring the island through the lens of an 8mm film really highlighted the analog nature of the film stock and the interaction between humans and nature. All of these elements, paired with the slow melodic tempo of Heavy Kisser, created an ethereal moment in time.
